I mainly shop at HEB. Here are the main reasons. I live near a very nice HEB, they carry the brands and products I prefer, most things are priced well, and they are very involved in the community.
Randalls is too expensive, they carry brands I don't know about, and I can never figure out how much something costs, because all the prices are if you have their member card. I don't have their savings card because I don't want to give them a bunch of personal info and have them track my purchases. I will say they do have really nice produce and flowers; but they just cost too much.
I like Central Market, but there is not one anywhere near me and mostly I buy pretty basic stuff that they either don't carry or costs to much, the same can be said for Whole Foods.
I also supplement my grocery purchases at Costco. I have two boys who drink milk like you wouldn't believe. I can save almost $1 a gallon at Costco and when you buy 4 to 6 gallons a week; it's worth the trip.
